Hey peeps! There we go! My first ever article in english on the blog. As you know, french is my first language, but I had a lot of English class and occasions to improve my English. I always want to share and write articles in this language to improve myself to achieve one of my important goals: to write and speak fluently in English and French. So, please, if I make some mistakes, do not hesitate to tell me in the comments, it will help me! So now, let me share with you my favourite albums of 2019. * not in order

Courage by Céline Dion (our canadian queeeeenn!!!!)

Released on November 15, 2019, Courage of Celine Dion is her first album in English in six years. So, there were a lot of expectations, but as usual, Celine do not disappoint. When her last album in English was released, I was still too young to really appreciate her talent, but six years later, this album particularly touched me and came to seek my sensitivity. The lyrics behind the songs are touching, full of meaning. Her voice, meanwhile, nothing to reproach, as always. It shakes us, upsetting us. I also have the impression that this album comes out of her comfort zone. She exposes herself, with all her vulnerabilities, to the public. These songs differ from each other, some are more rhythmic, others quieter. In short, the native singer of Charlemagne, does not disappoint with this promising new opus. It took her Courage to come back after six years, but this comeback is a success.

My favourite songs of Courage:

  • Courage
  • Lying down ( ft. Sia)
  • For the lover that I lost ( co-written by Sam Smith!)
  • I will be stronger
  • Perfect goodbye
  • Nobody’s watching

Romance by Camila Cabello

I really didn’t expect anything from this new album called Romance by Camila Cabello.
I must admit that she is not my favourite singer, but I liked some songs from her very first album: Camila, like the popular song Real friends. It took me a while to listen to his album released on December 6, 2019, but from the first listen, I enjoyed some songs. As the album title suggests, the songs revolve around love and all its derivatives. I don’t think it was the most striking album of the year, far from it, but I think that since I listened to it recently, it’s the album that comes to my mind the most.

My favourite songs of Romance:

  • Feel it twice
  • Used to this
  • This love
  • First man

Lover by Taylor Swift

Taylor came back in force in 2019 by launching Lover, her most recent album which also revolves around the theme of love. The songs are good, dynamic and touching. I’m not her biggest fan, but in terms of her music, I consider that she doesn’t disappoint her audience.

My favourites songs of Lover:

  • The Man
  • Paper Rings
  • Cornelia Street
  • Afterglow
  • Soon you’ll get better
  • It’s nice to have a friend

Special mention to Angèle for her album Brol

Ahh Angele!! If you do not know this talented Belgian singer, you must absolutely listen to her magnificent songs. They all hide a meaning (which I really like) and they each have their own style. In 2019, she released a reissue of her album Brol, adding new titles, such as Oui ou Non ou Perdus. I already knew her before she was propelled to the forefront and to see her being recognized for her work makes me very happy. To date, she has sung mainly in French, but sometimes mixes English and French in some of her titles, such as in Victimes des Réseaux and Flemme.

My favourites song of Brol:

  • ALL THE SONGS.

I hope you enjoy this kind of article. I think there is no better way to end a year than by presenting our favorite music. Because, after all, music accompanies us throughout a year, both in our beautiful and our bad times.
